More information about the pfaudler-24455 Glass-lined agitators are critical components in reactors used primarily in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries. These agitators are designed to mix, blend, or stir substances within a reactor vessel. The glass lining provides a corrosion-resistant surface, making them ideal for handling aggressive chemicals and maintaining product purity.
The construction of glass-lined agitators involves coating a metal substrate, typically steel, with a layer of glass. This glass layer is fused to the metal at high temperatures, creating a durable and chemically inert surface. The glass lining protects the metal from corrosive reactions and prevents contamination of the substances being processed.
Glass-lined agitators come in various designs, such as turbine, anchor, or propeller types, each suited for different mixing requirements. They are chosen based on factors like the viscosity of the materials, the desired mixing speed, and the reactor's size and shape.
However, glass-lined agitators have limitations. They are susceptible to mechanical damage, such as chipping or cracking, which can occur during installation, operation, or maintenance. Additionally, they require careful handling and regular inspection to ensure the integrity of the glass lining is maintained, as any damage can lead to contamination or equipment failure.
Pfaudler is a manufacturer of glass-lined steel reactors, tanks and other process equipment, founded in 1884 in Rochester, New York, USA. 98 used Pfaudler items have been listed on FEC Assets; 31 are in stock now, across reactors; tanks and kettles; glass-lined valves. 67 have sold. Models include 4.2-12V-19, 4DTW and 96-45-CD-MS. ...read more
